Ringing in the New Year with Curls & a Tutu

Wednesday, January 1, 2014

Happy New Year everyone!!!!!
I am starting 2014 with some tulle and curls...something different.
I have been totally sick of my hair and after a bad cut and this image, I decided to let the curls out for a bit.
Although I am not overly girly, I am always attracted to chiffon or a tutu, something about them is just super fun. I watched my friends store while she was away and I knew I had to have this dress. I had to fight about 4 girls for it, but I won!
No really, I had it on the back rack on hold (for me), and three or four people were asking about it.
didn't feel bad at all
sorta felt bad having to tell them it was on hold for someone, when that someone was me.
I ended up wearing this exact outfit to a friends party this past weekend, and I've gotta admit, it was kinda hard to make the chiffon look age appropriate. The blazer totally did the job by adding some structure to the frill.

Although I am not one for resolutions, I did have one goal for 2013, and that was to get me Social Work license and I didn't :(
All the paperwork has been sent out so it should happen in January..only off by a month, not too bad.
What about you? Any achievements made this past year?

** 2013 was the year of vintage for me. Tomorrow, instead of posting an overall recap, I will be posting all my amazing vintage finds of 2013!*

You don't need to worry about "age appropriate" Sheree...you look stunning here!! Those tall black boots give plenty of edge; but the blazer is a great touch, too!! And I LOVE the pink lip!! All the best for 2014!!

Happy New Year gorgeous! I also have a strong affection for tulle ... and making them work for my age ... even more of a challenge ... but I was so happy with how it worked for New Years Eve!

Big congratulations on getting your license! Your blog is always one of my favorite to visit ... I not only love your style ... but enjoy the pieces you share from your life. To me style is always so much richer ... with a true back story!

Thank you for sharing your style!

What a fun skirt. I can see why you nabbed it. I like how the jacket and boots keep it from being too OTT girly. You make it look very rock n roll.
