Last Years Fave.

Saturday, October 29, 2011

Vintage sweater from Blackbird Attic. H&M pants and booties. Diesel belt. Clutch via TJMaxx.

It is a winter wonderland here in NY right now. The snow has been coming down for hours and it is really piling up...CRAAAAZY!. The first day that the weather was cold enough, I pulled ot my favorite sweater from last year. I paired it with red because everyone knows camel and red are amazing together..duh! I was able to run all my errands before the snow started and now I am making an amazing turnip greens and white bean soup..yummm!
Hope you are enjoying your Saturday...

Mothers dress (old). H&M sweater. Nine West flats. Tylie Malibu bag.

Despite not being into Tweed.

Wednesday, October 26, 2011

Thrifted jacket. Cardigan via TJMaxx (similar one here). MNG shorts. Mossimo boots for Target. Target belt. Tylie Malibu bag.

I have never really been "into" tweed". It is more up my sisters alley but way too preppy for my taste. Despite this, I couldn't resist the high-waist on these shorts. I edged them up a bit so they would work for me and I really do love rockin' them like this. Apparently the long jacket over shorts look is totally having a moment right now and I am on board. I love bare legs and as long as you can't see goosebumps across my legs I will be sportin' it!

The Layering Piece

Thursday, October 20, 2011

Thrifted BB Dakota vest. Almost Famous Cargo's. BCBG heels. Tylie Malibu bag. J.Crew belt. F21 necklace and bracelets.

I am very into Layering Pieces right now. I was psyched when I found this vest for $6 because I knew I could get a lot of use out of it this fall and winter. It is 2 sizes too big but whatevs..I made it work. I added a festive touch of orange, which I always love with army green and voila a chic casual outfit with a pop..oh and don't forget the orange nails to top it all off!

Fabulous Outerwear

Wednesday, October 19, 2011

Vintage Jacket. Citizen of Humanity jeans. BCBG bag.

I love having a fabulous outerwear piece that you can just throw on and not have to worry about what shirt you are wearing (or lack there of) underneath. I love edgy pieces but I also love vintage pieces. Vintage often means unique patterns, silhouettes and if you are lucky fur trim. Throw on some long wide bottom jeans and you have an ultra slick retro look.

Cape & Animal Print.

Tuesday, October 18, 2011

Banana Republic cape. Gap animal print jeans. Tory Burch bag. BCBG shades.

Looking for the one must have fall outerwear item? The Cape is it. This one is from a few years back. If you are looking for new ones to shop check some out here.
Remember a few posts ago I was deciding on which animal print jeans to get? Well these were the winner. Unfortunately they seem to be stretching as I wear them which makes me want to pull my hair out and I know I am not the only one who hates this with a passion right??? you know who you are..yeah you! I did love them at first because they were ridiculously tight..not in a muffin top oozing out kinda way, but in a perfect "hug for your leg" kinda not so much. I guess I must live with my decision and next time remember that I never buy Gap jeans (never liked them).

Modern Warmth

Monday, October 17, 2011

H&M dress and booties.

Vintage sweater jacket.

Anthropologie clutch.

Bracelet from Blackbird Attic designed by Tooney Jewelry, find their Etsy shop here.

I am totally loving the minimalist trend right now. I have never been a fan of loads of accessories, so this trend suits me very well. I love the silhouettes of the minimalist pieces that are out now, clean simple and no need for all the extras because the pieces speak for themselves.
Believe it or I have had this sweater for 15 you didn't read it wrong, 15 years. My best friend and I used to pass this baby back and forth in High School and I eventually took ownership. I am still completely obsessed with it and it has been one of my favorite fall/winter pieces ever since.

A HUGE thanks to Karen for taking these pics

Subway Stops Here.

Gap jeans. H&M blazer.Tank via TJMaxx. Nine west flats. Vintage clutch.

Just a quick post of what I wore today. It was worth posting to at least be able to tell you that these jeans are buy one get one 50% off right now at Gap (I got the animal print ones too) and they are so ridiculously comfortable that you really should run out and get yourself a pair or!

Inspiration {Mondo}

Thursday, October 13, 2011

Armani Exchange DIY shirt. Vintage skirt & bag. Tano Heels. H&M Denim vest.
Banana Republic Necklace. Brighton bracelet.

I wore this skirt here. I said in that post that the pockets on the back were cute..was I right?

I had originally put this look together with a black skirt but then a saw a photo I had saved from an outfit I loved by Mondo from Project Runway (below) and decided to switch it up and add a touch of yellow...much more exciting don't you think?

Oh yes I am .

Tuesday, October 11, 2011

Almost Famous jeans. Express top. Guess heels. Louis Vuitton wallet. Diesel belt. Aldo ring.

That's right, I am rockin' acid wash jeans..say what you will but they are super comfy and, I think, pretty freakin' cool! Bow blouses are huge right now, this one I have had forever and like I said a few posts ago, everything comes back around. Check out more of the trend on a recent article on here.
